MEADOW PARK: PHASE 1, PARK DESIGN
- Parking lot and RV capacity of the park was expanded.
- Construction included coordination between multiple contractors, working in a small area.
- Park was opened before the July 4th weekend.
S2o provided design and construction management services for Phase 1 of Meadow Park. Nearly all of Meadow Park’s amenities, which were a focal point for the Town of Lyons, were damaged or destroyed during the September, 2013 flood.
Meadow Park has historically been a vital revenue generator, for the Lyons Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Events Department. Completion of Phase 1 was crucial for the Town’s revenue stream; The reconstruction of Meadow Park insured that the park could continue to host several annual festivals, as well as provide a site for the majority of the 2014 camping season.
Meadow Park Phase 1 re-established the parking and camping areas. The improvements included: 96 parking spaces, 22 RV camping spots, 9 tent camping spots, landscaping and hardscaping, and the construction of a large multipurpose field. The project was completed on an expedited design and construction schedule.
