Sydney Salzwedel, EIT
Sydney is an Engineer in Training focused on river restoration design and ecological engineering. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder where she focused on water resources and environmental remediation. Starting out on the East coast in the Chesapeake Bay watershed, she developed a passion for stream restoration engineering. Her experience includes comprehensive three-dimensional design of stream channels and floodplains, as well as hydrologic and hydraulic analyses. She has spent substantial time in the field conducting studies of geomorphic conditions and stream stability, as well as construction oversight of ongoing projects. This experience has provided her a better understanding of natural fluvial processes and how they can be imitated and practically implemented in engineered and restored systems.
In her free time, Sydney can be found outdoors. She enjoys skiing, hiking, fly-fishing, and backpacking, and is always on the lookout for a new sport to tackle.
